concerning software and this site
This is a section of commonly asked questions,
if you have a question which is not listed here then please e-mail
us, we will usually
respond within a day.
Q)
How do I download software once I have found something I want?
A) For a complete answer to this question please click
here. |
Q)
Once I have downloaded and installed new software, how can I find help on
using it?
A) Either read the help files which come with the program (usually
found on the help menu), or go to the program's homepage and ask the authors
for help. We cannot provide any help for specific programs at Greg's Software
Archive. |
Q)
What is "shareware"? I see that a lot of the software listed on
this site uses it.
A) Shareware is a method of distributing software, it is essentially
a "try-before-you-buy" system where you get to download a full,
or restricted version of a program and try it for a while before having
to buy it. Different software implements this in different ways, some software
will let you try a program for a set time period, others will take out certain
features of the software. |
Q)
Why do you only list programs for Windows?
A) Becuase Windows is by far the most popular operating system, we
feel that to support multiple operating systems would be confusing to our
users. |
Q)
I have some software I have written, how can I get it listed on your site?
A) Go to the developer's section
and sign up for a free account, this will allow you to post your software.
If you want to further promote your software, then please see the promotions
page. |
